Q: What size is the axle on a wheelbarrow?
A: Wheelbarrow is still in pieces. It is a standard size. My old wheelbarrow axle was an 11/16 diameter and I could not find a replacement wheel with a bearing that size. This 5/8 axle fixed that problem and the brackets bolted right on to the existing drilled holes.
Q: Is this axle too short for a Kobalt wheelbarrow?
A: The axle is too short for a 6 cu ft Lowes Kobalt/True Temper wheelbarrow by about 3/4″. The axle brackets were the only useful parts, which were better made than the OEM brackets, but even then the brackets barely lined up with the original holes and a hammer was required to get the final bolt in place. Pass.
Q: Do smooth-bored axle brackets work with 2-wheeled barrows?
A: The picture is of smooth-bored axle brackets that work with a 2-wheeled barrow, but the item being shipped has stops (looks like a little dimple punched in the bracket), and only works for a one-wheeled barrow unless modified.
